Proflowers Inc. reported revenue of $15.5 million for the Mother’s Day period of May 4 to May 11, a 51.2% leap over the same week last year.
The company attributes the growth to the expansion of online customer acquisition channels and partnerships with firms like Amazon.com and MSN, as well as targeted e-mail and direct mail efforts.
San Diego-based Proflowers reported revenues of $25 million for the third quarter, a 71% increase over the same period in 2001. Of orders placed from Jan. 1 to March 31, 45% were from repeat customers. Revenue from new customers was over $14 million.
“We anticipate that our growth in new customer acquisition and customer retention will continue to be key factors in our expansion and overall success,” said Bill Strauss, CEO.
