Jack Price Sports, an Irvine, CA-based company that markets point-spread betting tips, has been fined $15,000 for making outbound telemarketing calls to consumers on Missouri’s no-call list.
In addition to the fine, Missouri state attorney general Jay Nixon obtained an assurance of voluntary compliance settlement in St. Louis City Circuit Court against Marc Meghrouni, owner of the firm, who agreed stop making calls to consumers on the no-call list.
More than 60 complaints were received by office of the state attorney general. “Thanks to the complaints we received, we were able to crack down on these telemarketing calls that should not have been made,” said Nixon, in a statement.
Missouri has 1.6 million residential telephone numbers on its no-call list.
