Microsoft, Poker Top Nielsen//NetRatings List

After obtaining the results from the sampling activity through its MegaPanel of Web users at work and at home, Nielsen//NetRatings has released its findings for the top parent companies and stickiest brands in the U.S. for the month of May 2006.

Microsoft retained its top spot in the list of the “Top 25 Parent Companies at Home and Work” for May 2006. It increased its number of unique visitors from 112.6 million in April to 114.3 million in May. The time each visitor spent on their sites during May jumped from 2:00:15 to 2:06:28. Yahoo! had the second largest number of unique visitors, welcoming 105.5 million visitors in May, while Time Warner had 102.2 million visitors. Google was fourth on the list with 97.2 million unique visitors in May. Time Warner held visitors’ attentions for the longest time at 4:40:22.

In terms of the stickiest brands, PokerStars.com held onto its reign as the top dog in May. Its users spent 10:42:06 on the site for the month. FanFiction.net captured the second spot, with its visitors spending 6:05:51 on the site, while AOL rounded out the top three with its users spending 6:02:57 on the site. FullTiltPoker.com broke into the top 10, holding its users for 3:22:14 for the month.
