MDC STRIKES TWICE

Toronto-based MDC Corp. acquired a 70-percent stake in marketing communications shop Fletcher Martin Associates, Atlanta, for $2.3 million in cash and additional performance-based considerations. Fletcher generated estimated revenue of $9.5 million in 1999 from a client list that includes RTM Restaurant Group, Cellular South, First Data Corp., and the Georgia State University School of Business. The agency will become part of MDC’s Maxxcom marketing services division, which recently acquired direct-marketing outfit Accent Marketing Services, Louisville.
