Southland McDonald’s restaurants and the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) have entered into a long-term partnership to encourage children to live balanced and active lives.
The partnership was announced during the kick-off ceremonies Sept. 4 at McDonald’s AYSO Soccerfest at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. Soccerfest is a free, 24-hour youth soccer tournament and slumber party for more than 1,000 kids. McDonald’s is now the exclusive QSR restaurant sponsor of AYSO in Southern California.
As part of its effort to increase awareness of AYSO programs in Southern California, McDonald’s will promote AYSO’s five core philosophies through extensive in-store communications. Additionally McD’s will help AYSO volunteers prepare for the season through the creation and distribution of informational kits and will sponsor two tournaments this December for players with special needs.
In celebration of AYSO’s 40th anniversary, every AYSO-uniformed player will receive a free small ice cream cone at participating McDonald’s restaurants on Saturdays during the season, which began Sept. 4. More than 650 McDonald’s restaurants are participating in the program.
