McDonald’s Brings Big Screen Favorites to Happy Meals

McDonald’s is recapturing some of Disney’s favorite big screen, action and adventure characters as part of a new offering of toy premiums in its Happy Meals and Mighty Kids Meals.

In support of the recent DVD release of Pixar films
The Incredibles, McDonald’s is offering one of eight characters with the purchase of a Happy Meal or Might Kids Meal through April 14.

The latest McDonald’s premiums include Mr. Incredible and Dash from The Incredibles, Nemo and Dory from Finding Nemo, Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan from Monsters, Inc. and Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Toy Story and Toy Story 2.

Oak Brook, IL-based McDonald’s has offered premiums as part of its Happy Meals since June 1979. The meals have featured traditional characters and toys, including Bambi, Raggedy Ann and Peter Rabbit, as well as popular toys, including Hot Wheels, the Muppets and Transformers.

In 1997, McDonald’s entered into a 10-year partnership with Disney to feature some of its stars as premiums, including Cinderella, The Lion King and Finding Nemo. Since its initial launch, the toy premiums have become sought-after collectibles.

On average, McDonald’s distributes new toy premiums on a monthly basis and works closely with its various partners to tie-in with specific events.
