Mars Hires VP/Retail Channel Marketing Director

Shopper marketing agency Mars Advertising has named Timothy Goeglein as vice president and retail channel marketing director, a new position, in the Cincinnati office.

Goeglein will lead the development and execution of shopper marketing programs for consumer packaged goods companies and other key companies located in the area, including The Kroger Co. The post took effect Sept. 2, Promo has learned.

Prior to joining Mars, Goeglein worked for a brief period at International Paper as general manager. He also worked for 20 years with Kraft Foods, most recently as director of collaborative marketing. In that role, he was responsible for developing and implementing customer-focused marketing initiatives with The Kroger Co. for the entire Kraft Foods retail product portfolio, Mars said.

In a related development, the agency has promoted Bill Haveron to retail channel marketing director on The Kroger Co. channel team. He had been channel manager. While at the agency, which he joined in 2003, his account works has included Nestlé, Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages, Fresh Express, ConAgra Foods and Campbell Soup Co.

In addition to its Southfield, MI, headquarters, Mars also operates offices in more than a dozen cities throughout North America.
