MAA Hires Amie Smith Hughes as Executive Director

The Marketing Agencies Association has named Amie Smith Hughes executive director. The position took effect on March 15.

She replaces Vincent Sottosanti, who has retired.

Hughes’ responsibilities include coordinating activities for the organization’s spring and fall conferences. She will continue as director of the MAA Worldwide’s annual Globes Awards, presented at the fall conference, and as managing partner of The Global Marketer, an Internet-based editorial service for marketers she co-founded, that launches in April. Prior to her work with The Global Marketer, she was managing director of the New York office of Zipatoni.
