Letters to the Editor

[Re: Loose Cannon: An [Expletive Deleted] Column, Direct Newsline, June 6, 2005]:

I “opened” my Monday issue of Direct Newsline with the usual anticipation of “what’s Richard up to this time?” Silly me, I should have known you couldn’t resist your own take on the unmasking of Deep Throat.

While your commentary was, as always, informative and entertaining, I feel called upon to make a minor correction. In listing new books we can expect to see, you predict: “former Washington Post executive editor Ben Bradlee’s expected tome, ‘I Knew Before You Did, Na Na Na Na Na.'” I believe the correct phonetic rendition of this taunt (which I remember well from my childhood, having had it directed at me so many times), is in fact “nya nya nya nya nya.”

If you disagree, perhaps we can get William Safire to arbitrate?

Very funny and one of your best — much appreciated by a guy who watched Tricky Dick exit live on TV.
