Lawmakers Form Two Privacy Groups

HOUSE AND SENATE lawmakers have formed two groups to discuss possible new legislation and policies surrounding complex privacy issues. Sen. Tom Daschle, D-SD, has formed a Senate Democratic Privacy Task Force. Sen. Richard Shelby, R-AL, disclosed the creation of a bipartisan Congressional Privacy Caucus of senators and House members. The Senate Democratic task force will be headed by Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-VT, the Senate Judiciary Committee’s senior Democrat.
