Kmart Holding Corp. last week named restaurant veteran Aylwin Lewis president-CEO, replacing Julian Day.
Lewis had been president and chief multi-branding and operating officer at YUM! Brands, overseeing YUM!’s global operating platform, multi-branding expansion, and Restaurant Information Systems.
Day, who had been CEO since January 2003 (and president-CEO since March 2002), is credited with helping turn around Troy, MI-based Kmart under bankruptcy protection. He remains on Kmart’s board of directors.
