Karen Gopalan, vice president of brand and marketing services for Chase Manhattan Bank, has been named general chair of the 24th annual John Caples International awards.
“Karen is the ideal candidate to be this year’s Caples General Chair as her career spans both agency and client experience,” said Andi Emerson, founder of the Caples Awards and president of the Emerson Marketing Agency, in a statement.
Gopalan has developed customer relationships for clients like Mercedes Benz, American Express and Web MD.
Several Caples rules have been changed. For example, some categories have been split to separate low budget from high budget campaigns.
