Jupiter Media Metrix Puts Two Units on Block

Two units of financially ailing Jupiter Media Metrix are up for sale, and the New York firm hopes to find a buyer in the next two months.

Divisions on the block are the Media Metrix measurement division and the Jupiter research unit.

There are few potential buyers willing to pay more than token sums, the New York Times reported.

Competitor NetRatings purchased Jupiter’s AdRelevance (which measured online advertising expenditures) for $8.5 million.

Jupiter and NetRatings had plans to merge, but called the deal off in February.
