Jones Soda in Deal with Seattle Seahawks

Jones Soda has signed a deal to be a sponsor of its hometown football team, the Seattle Seahawks.

Under the deal, Jones gets exclusive soft-drink rights at the team’s stadium, Qwest Field and Events Center, and use of the team’s trademarks, according to documents filed Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The deal runs from July 1, 2007 though Feb. 28, 2012.

Jones grabbed headlines last month when it announced that it would convert the sweetener is all of its soda products to pure cane sugar from high fructose corn syrup. At the same time, the company launched a 12-ounce can.
