Inmark Beefs Up In-Store

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Inmark Enterprises of Great Neck, NY, wrapped up 1998 by purchasing U.S. Concepts, a New York-based in-store sampling and event marketing company.

The acquisition bumps up Inmark’s total revenues to $70 million and helps round out the agency’s promotion services. Its flagship agency, Inmark Services, reported revenues of $6.3 million for ’97 and $35 million for ’98 including Optimum Group, the Cincinnati-based outfit acquired last April.

Inmark continues to look for complementary businesses to buy, especially ethnic, direct marketing, and Internet shops. “We’re looking to round out our range of services,” says president John Benfield. “The fuller range of solutions we offer, the better we can serve our clients, and the money will follow.”

U.S. Concepts president-ceo Brian Murphy joins Inmark’s board of directors. He’ll continue to oversee U.S. Concepts, which will operate under its own name. Inmark will offer in-store services to existing clients including Colgate-Palmolive, General Mills, Best Foods, and Fender Guitars. It also will pitch other services to U.S. Concepts’ clients, and will jointly pursue new business.
