Michelle Cervantez, VP-marketing for Hyundai Motor America, has left the company, the automaker confirmed on Monday.
Cervantez left the company “to pursue her interests related to the analysis of brand life cycles and innovative communication tools in other market segments,” the company said.
A replacement for Cervantez has not been named.
Last week, Cervantez was named one of the “100 Most Influential Hispanics” by Hispanic Business magazine in its October 2006 issue. Cervantez joined Hyundai in 2005, and was responsible for all Hyundai marketing and advertising in the U.S., and plays a pivotal role in the company’s Hispanic marketing initiatives.
“Michelle has made a number of significant contributions to the company during her time at Hyundai and all of us at the company appreciate the hard work and effort she put into elevating the Hyundai brand,” said Hyundai COO Steve Wilhite in a statement.
Fountain Valley, CA-based Hyundai is a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Co. of Korea. The company distributes and sells cars and sport utility through more than 725 dealers throughout the nation.
