HSN will move its hard goods fulfillment function from Salem, VA to Piney Flats, TN by early fall. The jewelry fulfillment function now handled in Salem will move to the company’s Roanoke, VA facility.
Of the 450 people currently working at HSN’s Salem facility, nearly half will move to the Roanoke location.
HSN said in a statement that it would offer the remaining employees comparable positions in Tennessee and reassignment to open positions in Roanoke.
Salem is the largest of the home shopping channel’s ‘s four fulfillment centers. The others are located in Fontana, CA; Waterloo, IA; and Roanoke.
The company also said it would set up an outplacement job resource center to help train employees with technical, computer and sales skills.
