How a Business Can Get Started With Foursquare

Posted on

FoursquareFoursquare boasts more than 25 million users (31 percent of them are mobile) and more than 3 billion check-ins from around the world, according to its website. Not only that, but the social network has more than 1 million businesses utilizing its merchant platform. So clearly, if you’re a merchant looking for a new way to market your products and services, foster customer loyalty and reach customers on their mobile devices, Foursquare should at least be a consideration. But how do you get started? The first thing to do is claim your location and alert Foursquare that you own it, via its website or the company’s app. Then it’s on to creating a Foursquare page, which has a place for a banner, profile photo and links. Businesses can also notify followers of check-in specials, deals, coupons and announcements at each of their locations. If you have an idea for a custom badge, be prepared to go through an application process. (The Next Web)
