Market research and polling firm Harris Interactive, Inc. has acquired opinion research firm WirthlinWorldwide for $41.8 million in stock and cash.
Harris Interactive, which conducts the Harris Poll, said it expects significant growth from the deal in the financial services and consumer packaged goods sectors.
Harris said the deal would add $50 million in future additional annual revenue.
WirthlinWorldwide, Reston, VA, brings 300 new clients and strengthens Harris’ presence in the Midwest and Britain and increases penetration in the Chinese market. The combined company will employ more than 1,000 workers.
