Hanover Direct Inc. is combining its Domestications and The Company Store divisions in a further effort to focus on its Home Core business, the company said.
John DiFrancesco, who headed The Company Store will head the combined divisions as president of the newly named division, The Company Store Group. Farley Nachemin, has been named chief merchandising officer of the new group and president of Domestications. He will report to DeFrancesco.
Nachemin is credited with leading a turnaround of Domestications that yielded a $3.7 million improvement in earnings before income taxes depreciation and amortization for the first half of 2002 over the prior year period, the company said.
Hanover will also implement the previously announced transition of the fulfillment operations from the leased Kindig Lane distribution facility in Hanover, PA to its own facility in Roanoke, VA, which will result in the elimination of 50 full time operations and administration positions.
The Company Store offers proprietary design home furnishings merchandise. Domestications offers a wide range of value priced proprietary and branded home furnishings merchandise. Both unit sell products through their Web sites and catalogs.
