Ha-Lo Industries Inc., Niles, IL, reported net income of $9.8 million on net sales of $176 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 1998, compared to net income of $7 million on net sales of $150.3 million for the same period last ear. Net income increased by 39%, net sales by 17%.
For the year, net income was $24.5 million on net sales of $589.7 million, compared to net income of $14.9 million on net sales of $465.7 million in 1997. Net income increased by 65%, net sales by 27%.
“Despite some disappointment in our telemarketing division, our recurring pretax earnings increased 79% to $51.2 million from $28.6 million in 1997,” Lou Weisbach, president and CEO, said in a statement. “Excluding telemarketing, internal revenue growth was 25% for the year.”
