Instagram founder Kevin Systrom introduced members of the press to a new messaging service last week called Instagram Direct.
Will this change the way people interact socially with their closest groups of friends? “In many ways, we’re fine-tuning our sharing behavior toward what attracts the most attention, posting images and videos that we think will get the biggest response and comments,” writes Wortham. “Instagram Direct seems to be a response, or an acknowledgement of that shift.”
