GM Launches Massive Giveaway Program

General Motors will use direct mail and the Internet to promote what it claims is the largest automobile giveaway in history.

Designed by the McCann Worldgroup, the Hot Button campaign is budgeted at $50 million, according to news reports. It will also include television and print advertising.

Starting today, GM will give away over 1,000 vehicles, with a total value of $25 million. Consumers will be get a chance to one of 54 vehicles, including the Hummer H2, Cadillac CTS, Pontiac GTO, Saturn VUE, Chevy SSR, Buick Ranier and Saab 9-3.
