Giveaways are Mainstays for Banana Boat Promo

The Banana Boat brand is using branded giveaways as reminders this summer, not only to protect your skin from the sun, but that the best way to do that would be by slathering Banana Boat sun screen up and down your body.

The promotion, “101 Days of Summer,” appears on the Banana Boat Facebook page and will give away, you guessed it, 101 daily prizes that include branded beach totes, beach towels, gas cards, VISA gift cards and other prizes that vary daily and range in value to upwards of $300.

The promotion takes on a more serious tone as part of the brands “Sun 101” education campaign to teach families and others how to best protect themselves from the sun this summer. Banana Boat has partnered with The Skin Care Foundation, which is sharing advice and sun safety tips and encouraging families to get “Sun Certified.” Earlier this spring, Banana Boat said that it planned to raise $101,000 for foundation by getting 101,000 consumers “Sun Certified” this year. Each consumer who takes a short quiz on Banana Boat’s Facebook page receives a “Sun Certified” badge to feature on their profile and triggers a $1 donation to support foundation’s education initiatives.

As part of its education initiative, Banana Boat is also teaming up with sun care experts, including: two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and U.S. Women’s Soccer Team captain Christie Rampone, dermatologist Julie Karen, M.D., and family lifestyle expert Amy E. Goodman. Over the course of the summer, these experts will share advice and host live conversations on the Banana Boat Facebook page.
