Galls Inc., a mail order company that provides equipment and apparel to law enforcement, fire fighters, emergency medical workers and security personnel, is under investigation for allegedly failing to obtain proper licenses before exporting merchandise overseas, according to federal documents.
The firm was contacted earlier this month by agents of the U.S. Department of Commerce at its Lexington, KY, facility in connection with record keeping and documentation of certain export sales. Galls is cooperating with the investigation, according to company spokeswoman Kristine Grow.
The probe involves shipments that had been made over the course of a few years, she said.
