Former PayPal CTO Moves to Ask.com

Search engine Ask.com has hired Chuck Geiger, a former chief technical officer of online transaction service PayPal, to be its vice president of technology and engineering.

Geiger will have responsibility for site engineering, IT and operations, data engineering and program management for Ask.com. He will also oversee engineering for Bloglines, the free blog aggregator and reader owned and operated by Ask.com.

Geiger served most recently as CTO and acting CEO at Protrade.com, a sports entertainment start-up. Prior to that he was CTO of PayPal, and served as vice president of product development and architecture at eBay, which bought PayPal in July 2002.
