Ford To Follow Oprah Giveaway

Ford Motor Co. confimed yesterday that it has signed a deal to give away family vehicles on ABC TV’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition show. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Ford F-150 trucks and Ford Heavy Duty trucks are used and showcased on the reality TV show about home renovation. Ford is also one of the show’s sponsors.

No further details were available at press time.

General Motors made a huge splash when it teamed with Oprah to give every audience member of her daily talk show a fully-loaded 2005 Pontiac G6.

In other news, the Mr. Coffee brand has joined forces with the Ford Motor Co. for the “Personalize Your Coffee, Customize Your Ride” sweepstakes.

One grand-prize winner will receive a Ford F-150 truck valued at $40,000 and have the opportunity to choose from a range of F-150 models and interior and exterior options personalized to his or her taste. Additionally, there will be five first place winners who will receive a suite of Mr. Coffee brand products valued at $250 each. Consumers can enter by visiting mrcoffee.com through Dec. 31.

“This promotion is an example of how two powerhouse brands can come together in a fun way to benefit consumers,” Mary Ann Knaus, senior VP-strategic development and global marketing of Sunbeam Products, Inc., said in a statement.
