Filter uses NY Street Teams, Clothing Stores, to Push its Magazine

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Music magazine Filter will tailor its free mini-magazine for New York audiences this summer.

Filter will publish a New York edition of Filter Mini in June, with eight additional pages of local content and ads. Filter street teams will give the mini to music fans at club nights and concerts throughout the city.

Separately, Filter cut a deal with retailer Urban Outfitter to distribute Filter Mini in its 68 clothing stores nationally. Fans also can download Filter Mini from its Web site, Filtermini.com.

Los Angeles-based Filter publishes a mini every two months; its full-size quarterly carries a CD with music samples in each issue. The year-old mini’s circulation is 90,000. Full-size Filter is three years old.
