FedEx Corp. and the National Basketball Association have formed a marketing alliance in which FedEx Corp. will promote its international delivery services through domestic NBA events and league media properties such as NBA TV and NBA.com.
The first-ever FedEx All-Star Global Village, an interactive basketball, media and cultural area, will be featured at the 2005 NBA All-Star Jam Session in Denver. FedEx said it will sign several NBA international players to endorse the program.
The area will consist of an “Around the World Court,” decorated with images from countries around the world, along with FedEx branded backboards, basketballs and signage. The featured NBA players will host a number of basketball-related clinics and be available for media in the “FedEx News Room.”
FedEx Corp. will also sponsor “Global Leaders of the Game, Delivered by FedEx,” a new monthly feature on NBA TV and NBA.com. Each feature will also have a presence on all nine international NBA.com Web sites—France, Germany, Canada, Brazil, Japan, U.K., Espanol, China and Taiwan, and U.S. Hispanic.
