The European Commission has approved a joint venture between French hotel chain Accor SA, British-based Hilton Group PLC and American e-commerce company WorldRes.com to launch an Internet reservation system, according to wire service reports.
The EU said the deal didn’t cause to any significant competition concerns because it would have only a minor share of the market.
The joint venture, WorldRes Europe, announced in March, will operate an online system for the partners to store, manage and distribute room rates and availability information, allowing real-time reservations.
