Duane Reade CMO to Resign

David D’Arezzo, Duane Reade’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer, is resigning after two years in the post, the regional drug store chain said last week.

D’Arezzo, who was hired in the marketing chief in March 2006, is leaving the company to take a job as a senior management position at a large southwest regional company. His last day is April 17.

The resignation comes just weeks after Duane Reade named John A. Lederer as chairman and CEO. A search is underway to replace D’Arezzo, the company said. Duane Reade’s merchandise and marketing teams will execute programs until a replacement is hired.

Duane Reade operates 242 stores in the New York area.
