The Direct Marketing Association this morning called on direct marketers to honor the federal do-not-call registry even though a federal judge had ruled the list unconstitutional. The registry goes into effect on Wednesday.
H. Robert Wientzen, the president of the DMA put out a statement this morning asking all direct marketers–DMA members and non-members–to honor the requests of the 50 million consumers who signed up for the federal DNC list.
“The DMA will continue to work with the FTC and other officials to minimize the impact of this situation on the direct marketing industry,” said the DMA statement.
Wientzen released his statement after meeting with more than 200 of the association
