DMA Expenses, Revenue Rise; Conference Revenue Dips

Revenue and expenses for the Direct Marketing Association in fiscal 2004/05 were both slightly up from last year, while revenue from meetings and conferences dropped, according to the organization’s annual report.

The DMA reported $35.1 million in revenue for the year ended June 30, 2005, compared to $34.7 million for the year ended June 30, 2004. Expenses for the year ended June 30, 2005 were $26.4 million, compared to $25.7 million for the previous year, the DMA said in the report, which was released earlier this week.

Meanwhile, the organization’s net assets rose significantly in 2004/05 to $9.8 million from $7.8 million in 2003/04.

Revenue from meetings and conferences dropped to $14.4 million from $15.1 million in 2003/04, the DMA said in its annual report. Expenses associated with meetings and conferences also dropped. The DMA reported $6.6 million in expenses related to meetings and conferences for 2004/05 compared to $7 million the previous year.

Membership dues rose slightly. The DMA reported $11.7 million for 2004/05 compared to $11.3 million the previous year.
