Disney Internet Group Eliminates 135 Positions

The Walt Disney Internet Group will eliminate 135 staff positions, including operations, technology, marketing, sales support, administration and human resources jobs, the company announced Monday.

The cuts will come from its Internet group technology organization, ABCNEWS.com and ABC.com offices located in New York, North Hollywood and Seattle.

“We sincerely regret the impact to these employees, each of whom has made a terrific contribution to our business. However, these layoffs will help enable us to operate in a more efficient and streamlined manner as we drive toward becoming a profitable business,” said Steve Bornstein, chairman, Walt Disney Internet Group, in a statement.
