Disney Enhances DVD Rewards Program with Movie Tie-in

Buena Visa Worldwide Home Entertainment has added a new incentive to its Disney Movie Rewards program.

Members can earn rewards for attending Disney theatrical releases. For instance, customers receive 50 points for watching eligible Disney films and mailing in their tickets stubs.

Disney is offering the incentive in part to promote viewership of its latest films in theaters, and give members more chances to earn rewards. Details are available at DisneyMovieRewards.com

Its latest movie, Meet the Robinson, hit theaters last month. In addition, members can earn 50 points for watching Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End due out May 25 and Ratatouille, which hits theaters June 29.

The Disney Movie Rewards program, which launched last year, lets members collect points for branded merchandise and digital downloads. Consumers enter codes from Disney DVDs to receive points.

Members can redeem points for temporary tattoos, baseball hats, gift cards, show and movie posters and jewelry. The program offers fans savings and special offers off Disney DVDs, an enewsletter on upcoming movie releases and the chance to win prizes.

More than 700,000 people have signed up for the program since its inception last fall.

The program also offers a members-only instant-win game for a chance to win of 12,000 prizes at DisneyMovieRewards.com. Two grand-prize winners will visit the Walt Disney Animations Studios in Burbank, CA. The promotion runs through April 30.

“We always strive for ways to innovate the home entertainment industry and add value for the loyal fan base who love our DVDs,” Gabrielle Chamberlin, senior vice president of marketing, North America, Buena Vista Worldwide Home Entertainment said, in a statement. “Disney Movie Rewards program continues this tradition as it drives interest in our releases and rewards members with things like sneak peeks of upcoming movies and behind-the-scenes experiences that only Disney can bring.”

EPrize, Pleasant Ridge, MI, handles the instant-win game.
