Disney Doesn’t Waffle on Recall Offer

The Walt Disney Co., Burbank, CA, has offered a $70 dollar gift voucher, good for products in its catalog, to all consumers returning a Mickey Mouse waffle iron. The waffle irons have been recalled because of a possible hazard of fire, shock or electrocution.

The waffle irons, which were sold for around $60 between October 1996 and January 1997, feature a Mickey Mouse face on the griddle. More than one thousand of the irons, which were produced by Vitantonio Products, are being recalled. While Disney received one report of a waffle iron catching fire at a wall socket, it did not report any injuries or damage as a result of the iron’s use.
