Disgruntled Consumer Files Appeal in PCH Case

A consumer whose suit against Publishers Clearing House Inc. and several of its employees was thrown out of court in February plans to file an appeal.

Lonnie Snelling notified the U.S. District court for the Eastern District of Missouri earlier this month that he will challenge the ruling dismissing his case.

Snelling filed suit against PCH in May 2002, claiming that he purchased magazines and merchandise in the belief that they would improve his chances of winning a prize.

He alleged that from 1993 to 1997, PCH made deceptive statements in mailings, advertisements and telephone calls, and that he relied on them to order from the firm.
