Sales across all channels dropped for Sharper Image Corp. in July, but retail revenue fell faster than catalog an online sales. For the month, total sales were $34.8 million, down from $42 million a year earlier. Total store sales fell from $27.6 million to $21.8 million, while catalog and direct marketing sales were $8.5 million, down from $8.9 million. Internet revenue fell from $5.5 million to $4.5 million.
For the second quarter, which ended July 31, the San Francisco-based marketer’s sales dropped from $133.6 million to $104.1 million. Total store sales dropped from $87.8 million to $64.7 million, while catalog/direct marketing revenue fell from $27.5 million to $24.4 million. Internet sales were $15.1 million, down from $18.4 million.
