Direct Marketers Gateway Inc., a nonprofit group formerly known as Direct Marketing Day Foundation Inc. has merged with the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation. The deal includes the Lee Epstein Fund, an educational fund with $1.8 million on its books.
Joining the DMEF board as trustees are Brian Kurtz, executive vice president of Boardroom Inc., and JoAnne Manfradi Dunn, CEO of Alliant Cooperative Data Solutions, who had previously served Gateway.
Once associated with DMDNY, Gateway remained separate when that conference was acquired by the Direct Marketing Association almost three years ago. But board members recently concluded that it would be better to merge and not compete for contributions, according to Kurtz.
Kurtz noted that the Epstein Fund, founded by DMA Hall-of-Famer Lee Epstein, will retain its name. In addition, Gateway
