Deborah Radcliffe Named General Chair of John Caples Awards

Deborah Radcliffe has been tapped to serve as the 2007-2008 general chair of the John Caples International Awards. Radcliffe is the team leader for relationship marketing at Pfizer Inc.

Radcliffe joined Pfizer in 2003 as director of relationship marketing for Lipitor and Viagra. She was named team leader of Pfizer’s Relationship Marketing group less than two years later.

Radcliffe began her pharmaceutical marketing career in 1995 with McCann Relationship Marketing (which is part of MRM Worldwide, a subsidiary of McCann Erickson). She led the agency’s healthcare practice for eight years.

“We are ecstatic to have Deborah — with her tremendous smarts and stature — join and lead our volunteer group as General Chair for the coming year,” said Caples founder Andi Emerson in a statement. “Her 25 years in the direct and relationship marketing profession span every conceivable medium and marketing category and include innumerable award winning campaigns. She is a true leader and a trail blazer and we look forward to her helping the Caples continue to grow and evolve.”

The John Caples International Awards competition was founded in 1978 by Andi Emerson, president of The Emerson Marketing Agency. The awards recognize “innovative creative solutions to direct marketing problems.”
