Clear Channel Radio is offering trips to Disney as part of a marketing campaign to celebrate the theme park’s 50th anniversary |
As part of the campaign, more than 400 Clear Channel Radio stations nationwide will set aside spots promoting Disney’s “Happiest Celebration on Earth”. In addition, radio spots will announce a contest in which consumers can call in and win 50 trips for four to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California.
Winners will be invited to Disney’s “Happiest Celebration on Earth” festivities, which kick off May 5 at all 10 Disney theme parks around the world. An additional Disney theme park, Hong Kong Disneyland, will open in September.
This marks the second time Clear Channel Radio has partnered with the theme park for a large-scale promotion, said Julie Wilson-Watson, president and owner of Clear Results Marketing LLC, the agency handling the promotion. In 2003, Clear Channel Radio ran a similar promotion with 200 radio stations giving away trips to Mission Space, a new ride at Epcot.
“Disney is always reinventing itself,” Wilson-Watson said. “Disney is always showcasing something new and exciting. This is an opportunity to showcase the 50th anniversary and the global reach of Disney.”
The contest is open to consumers 18 and older and runs through Mar. 18. Radio spots and Internet materials support.
In addition, Premiere Network’s American Top 40 with host Ryan Seacrest will run a one-month promotion offering consumers trips to Disney. Each week, Seacrest will give away a trip for four to a Disney park. The date of the promotion is yet to be released. Last November, Premiere Network’s Delilah show ran a radio promotion tied into the “Happiest Celebration on Earth”, giving away trips on the Disney cruise line.
Clear Channel Radio is giving consumers yet another chance to win Disney trips via the Internet. Consumers can log onto more than 800 Clear Channel Radio Web sites and enter to win.
