Cendant Corp., New York, has named Jon F. Danski executive vice president-finance and chief accounting officer. Danski joins Cendant’s senior management team following more than 23 years of combined service as a finance executive for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., ITT Corporation, RJR Nabisco, EDS Corporation and Arthur Andersen & Co. He replaces Scott Forbes, who was promoted to group managing director of operations for Cendant Europe in February of this year. Danski will report to the company’s senior Executive VP and CFO, David M. Johnson.
Cendant Corp., the firm created from the merger of Parsippany, NJ-based franchiser HFS Inc. and membership package service vendor CUC International Inc., Stamford, CT, has been under fire since April 1998, when it announced that it had found “accounting irregularities” in the earnings statement of CUC. The company reissued its financial statements for the previous three years.
