CDW Corp., the Vernon Hills IL-based catalog and online retailer of computers and other tech gear, said on Friday that May sales were $551.3 million, an 11.9% increase over sales for the same month in 2005.
Average daily sales for the month were $25.1 million, 6.8% higher than daily sales in May of last year.
The company said that daily sales in both the corporate and public sectors grew during the month. Corporate average daily sales for May showed a 3.4% year-over-year increase, while daily sales to the public sector—largely government offices and school districts—were 15% higher than last year.
Product categories showing the strongest daily unit volume growth in May included notebook CPUs, server CPUs, software, data storage, video, memory and input devices.
