St. Petersburg, FL-based Catalina Marketing Corp., has formed a pact with MyPoints.com, San Francisco, to jointly offer direct marketing and loyalty programs to packaged goods manufacturers, supermarket retailers, direct marketers and online marketers.

Under the agreement, MyPoints.com will become the preferred rewards provider for Catalina’s SuperMarkets Online Inc. and its ValuPage service. A Web site will be created that contains an incentive for visitors to join the MyPoints program.

MyPoints and Catalina Marketing will also jointly market MyPoints.com’s marketing and loyalty services to Catalina’s distribution network of more than 13,100 supermarkets and the 150 packaged goods manufacturers that currently use Catalina’s services. MyPoints.com will feature coupon products to its client advertisers. Intertec, the parent company of DIRECT Newsline, is a partial owner of MyPoints.com.
