Brady Leaves DMI for Media Synergy, Others Defect, Too

Another high-placed executive is defecting from troubled Acxiom Direct Media Inc., Greenwich, CT. Regina A. Brady, leader of the Interactive Group, told DIRECT Newsline that she has been hired as vice president of new business development and strategic partnerships at e-mail marketer Media Synergy Inc, Toronto.

“Honestly they have been without peer and I think they can be a major powerhouse,” Brady said about her new employer. “They are flawless, and their customer service is impeccable. It will be a great marriage.”

The company is preparing to file an initial public offering, she added, which is also “very interesting.”

“We are delighted that Reggie has decided to join us,” said Media Synergy’s CEO Eric Goodwin. “In the direct marketing and interactive marketing circles, Reggie is a real star with an enviable track record.”

Brady will be based in the Greenwich, CT, office and will report directly to Goodwin. She remains at Direct Media until Oct. 8 and will start her new job on Oct. 18.

Also joining the Media Synergy from DMI is Carey Catala, who had been the top e-mail broker in the Interactive division. Catala will head up Media Synergy’s West Coast office in Pleasanton, CA.

Another DMI interactive group employee, Karen Elwood, has joined Weehawken, NJ-based the SpeciaLists Ltd., as co-manager of a new West Coast division, E-SpeciaLists. Emily Polsby is the other co-manager of the division. Both women will be vice presidents.

The new division–to be set up in the San Francisco Bay area–will provide e-mail marketing solutions to meet the highly diversified needs of online marketers, according the SpeciaLists chairman Lonnie Mandel. Tina Kearns and Annmarie Hidalgo will be account managers for E-SpeciaLists. Polsby, Kearns and Hidalgo all came from DMI.
