Boston Market Debuts Video Contest

Boston Market knows that its customers’ time is very valuable, so, in exchange for a shot at a trip to Hollywood, it is giving them a chance to tell what they would do with an extra hour in a day.

Through its first-ever Internet video contest, Boston Market is posing the question, “What would you do with an extra hour in your day?” Entrants must demonstrate via video submissions less than a minute long what they would do with an extra 60 minutes in a day. The campaign is built around Boston Market’s tagline “Time for Something Good,” designed to show consumers how the Golden, CO-based restaurant chain can save consumers an hour of their time with its menu offerings.

“There is so much going on in our lives,” said Trey Hall, chief brand officer, Boston Market Corp. “We’re spending so much time doing things that we have to do, not things doing that we want to do.”

To enter the Homemade Movie Contest, consumers submit their video shorts online to MyExtraHour.com. Judging will be based on creativity, originality and use of the Boston Market cup in the video.

“It’s an interactive way to build relationships with Boston Market [customers],” Hall said.

One grand-prize winner will receive a three-day trip for two to Hollywood, $2,000 spending money, a one-year Boston Market gift card for four and a Universal Studios tour. Lesser prizes include Circuit City and Boston Market gift cards.

Consumers can visit MyExtraHour.com to review video submissions and vote on their favorite entry. The top winner will be announced via Web cast slated for June 16.

The contest ends May 28. Online materials and TV spots support. Interactive agency FL2 and ad agency Cameron Christopher & Thomas, both of Denver, handle.
