Music membership site BMGMusicService.com, New York, recruited more than one million new members during the fiscal year ended June 2000–a 114% increase over the previous year.
The company attributes the increase to the success of an integrated marketing strategy that uses banner ads, e-mail and methods of driving traffic from search engines and other Web sites.
The site (www.bmgmusicservice.com) offers best-selling compact discs at reduced prices to members. More than 10% of new members now join the BMG through the Web site.
