Baseball Fans Score Deal at Detroit Marriott Hotels

Detroit Tigers fans and out-of-state visitors rooting for their home teams at Comerica Park can strike good deals by staying at downtown Detroit Marriott hotels.

For the duration of the regular season, Marriott’s “Grand Slam Baseball Fan Package” offers deluxe accommodations, breakfast for two, hotel parking and a $20 gift certificate for the Elwood Bar & Grill, across the street from the ball, all for a nightly rate of $159.

Participating locations are the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, Courtyard by Marriott Detroit Downtown—both within walking distance to the ballpark—and The Dearborn Inn, a Marriott Hotel, which is a 20-minute drive to the ballpark.

“It’s geared toward fans for the opposing team, for Michigan fans who don’t live in the area and for Detroit-area fans who want a getaway,” said Marriott spokeswoman Jodie Kennedy. “It is definitely a savings.”

Marriott is publicizing the season-long promotion through search engines, e-mail messages, and on the Marriott and Michigan.org Web sites.

More information about the packages is available at www.detroitbaseballpackages.com. The incentive runs through September.
