Most shoppers visit drug stores at least once a week whether they’re eight or 80 years old, according to retail surveys conducted by Meyers Research, Inc.
A total of 66 percent of respondents said they visited their local CVS or Rite Aid four times or more per month. Those numbers showed little variation across age segments – 63 percent of shoppers under 35 were weekly visitors, as were 67 percent of 35-59-year-olds and 69 percent of those over 60.
Only 9 percent of respondents said they stopped at the drug store once a month or less. In yet another sign that the mind is the first thing to go, 2 percent of the over-60 crowd and 1 percent of the 35-59 age group said they didn’t know how often they shopped in the channel.
