Is Amazon taking over the world? Time will tell, but for the moment the giant is planning a home makeover show where retailers’ products are just a click away, marking its first effort specifically created to facilitate shopping for its 300 million active users.
Kin Community, a digital media and entertainment company, is partnering with Amazon Home for new episodes of its series Overhaul, in which YouTube stars get their spaces redone with shoppable content available in each video. YouTube baking star Rosanna Pansino (8.8 million subscribers) and beauty blogger Teni Panosian (1.2 million subscribers) will appear in the first two episodes.
All six-episodes will feature YouTube influencers making over their own homes and will be hosted and co-produced by the founder of DwellStudio, Christiane Lemieux, who will also promote her furniture in the episodes.
The premiere airs in September.
The strategy is to deliver both entertainment and easy shopping for users, the CEO of Kin Community Michael Wayne told Business Insider.
